KENJO MARKETS RAISES $43,000 FOR EAST TENNESSEE KIDNEY FOUNDATION
East Tennessee kidney patients will benefit from a $43,000 donation by KenJo Markets to the East Tennessee Kidney Foundation. The funds, raised through coupon book sales at the company’s 35 locations, will be used to improve the lives of East Tennesseans with, at risk for or affected by kidney disease.
“On behalf of those patients who will be helped, we thank the KenJo Markets customers and employees who helped raise the money through our 2014 coupon book campaign,” said Charles W. “Wes” Carruthers Jr., president of KenJo Markets. “We appreciate that the East Tennessee Kidney Foundation helps kidney disease patients right here, in our region.”
The East Tennessee Kidney Foundation currently serves more than 200 low-income patients per month in 15 counties. The organization focuses on patient services, including helping patients with transportation to and from dialysis treatments and providing assistance and resources for dental care and also nutritional supplements. Tax-deductible donations are accepted online at http://www.etkidney.org.
“The unfailing support of KenJo Markets has been instrumental in the growth of the East Tennessee Kidney Foundation,” said East Tennessee Kidney Foundation Executive Director Katie Martin. “On behalf of our volunteer board of directors, we sincerely appreciate this donation and the support of Wes Carruthers to further our mission of providing patient services and transportation to dialysis patients.”
